Hi, my name is Nate.  One of my earliest memories is watching my grandfather fixing things at his basement workbench.  Fast forward many years and now I am a father of three homeowner with a workbench who enjoys saving money by fixing and building things. I have a vast number of hobbies that stem from my desire to always try to do things myself once, and if I enjoy it, keep doing it myself.  I'm a sucker for trying to fix a small engine that someone else is throwing away.  I grew up on a farm where things constantly broke and I often was involved in fixing them, I took this interested and aptitude to college with me where I earned a degree in mechanical engineering and later went on to get a master's degree in the same field.  I started this blog and youtube chanel to share what I have learned with others, especially my children.
