Garage Door Cleaning and Lubrication

Image
Did you know that you should lubricate your garage door every 3-6 months?  I didn't, then my garage door started acting up, opening part way and then stopping abruptly.  I was able to fix it by simply cleaning the track and lubricating the moving parts.  Hopefully this video will help you do the same. Here are the supplies you need (Amazon links): Garage door lubricant Brake parts cleaner Brass wire brush Rags https://youtu.be/C66Txgfca50

Repairing a flat tire with a plug

Image
Have you ever just had one of those days?  I had one last week.  The cherry on top was getting in my wife's car in the evening so that the TPMS could inform me that one of the tires was leaking.  Luckily, a hole in the tread of the tire can be quickly repaired at home for less than $10, a lot less than the cost of replacing the tire.  I created this video to show you how I repaired the tire so that you can do it yourself too. Here are the parts and tools you will need to do the same thing at home: https://youtu.be/XTIj8UOGqRk

Microwave lightbulb replacement

Image
Check out my first video! Its a simple one, changing a microwave lightbulb. This is more of a dry run on the video editing process than anything, but there are still a few helpful tips to make sure you pick the right bulb (I used these ones from Amazon ) and to make sure it doesn’t burn out quickly . Please comment and let me know what you think! https://youtu.be/ClX7qgu4JV4 Kitchenaid Microwave Model number KHMS1850SSS-2

About me

Image
Hi, my name is Nate.  One of my earliest memories is watching my grandfather fixing things at his basement workbench.  Fast forward many years and now I am a father of three homeowner with a workbench who enjoys saving money by fixing and building things. I have a vast number of hobbies that stem from my desire to always try to do things myself once, and if I enjoy it, keep doing it myself.  I'm a sucker for trying to fix a small engine that someone else is throwing away.  I grew up on a farm where things constantly broke and I often was involved in fixing them, I took this interested and aptitude to college with me where I earned a degree in mechanical engineering and later went on to get a master's degree in the same field.  I started this blog and youtube chanel to share what I have learned with others, especially my children.
